Not all ethical practice is morally right because what is the proper intimacy to do does not automatically mean that it is right. A classic example is the lawyer whose professional ethics compels him to defend his client vigorously even if he knows that his client killed a man which in essence is not moral. Financial Analysis Of J Sainsbury PLC And Morrison PLC Essay

Financial Analysis Of J Sainsbury PLC And Morrison PLC - Essay ExampleAlthough piteous landmark liquidity of Sainsbury is lesser than Morrisons, it could be justified by the fact that the company has more working capital available as compared to Morrisons. This proves the liquidity wellness of the Sainsbury as against Morrisons. The receivables turnover rate of the Sainsbury is more than the competitor which is because of the fact that the company is focusing on expanding the customer base. Once the customer alliance is developed, it would be easier for Sainsbury to lock the customers and attract them to purchase more. It is evident from the inventory turnover rate that both the companies fetch the sales from inventory in a logical period of time. This shows that Sainsbury is working as per planning its sales are increasing but they are not over-stocking as it will disturb their short term liquidity ratio. The debt ratio of both the companies is similar which indicates that this r atio is maintained across the industry. The ratio reveals positive results as 50% of the assets are financed by equity financing. This reduces the contribution of external creditors affecting the decisions of Sainsbury. patronage the fact that interest coverage of Morrisons is much better than Sainsbury, it does not affect the decision to invest in Sainsbury. Despite the lower interest coverage of Sainsbury, its interest expenses are still 6 times lesser than its operating profit which shows that there is no potential curse of credit risk or bankruptcy for the company.

Hostility in Romen and Juliet Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Hostility in Romen and Juliet - Research Paper ExampleAccordingly, the theme of the play can be described as the hostility of two households in Verona, Montague and Capulet, who try to attack aggressively the lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who preserve loyalty to their true kingdom of love. Therefore, not love only must be regarded as relevant in the play, but rather the hostility of two households, which arises among them, trying to destroy the sweet feeling of the vernal lovers. Then, focusing on the summary of the plot and also sub-plots, both with its outcomes for the proposed theme, it should be concerned that ancient rage was the most powerful motive for action passim the play for both minor and major characters. Here, Shakespeare shows his constant shifts from comedy to tragedy, and the development of the minor characters, who are able to conduct the supporting atmosphere for the protagonists. The star-crossed lovers present a stable opposition to the hatred, being able to forg et about rage in a flame of their swift and passionate love however, due to the star-crossed helping or simply by chance they were doomed for the mutual suicides. To force a thesis, some researchers put an emphasis on solely love when interact the play, such as, for example, Lawrence Edward Bowling1, and some suggested that not only factor of love may be objectified in the whole play, such as Thomas Honegger2 but, on the contrary, it should be stated that simply hatred/rage/hostility of the clans was an fundamental factor which determined the development of the relations between the lovers because their love from the beginning contradict powerfully with the whole situation within the families. This situation gives a powerful impact on extremely impulsive process of mutual relationship of Romeo and Juliet. Therefore, a quite extravagant thesis should be forced that the lovers strongest sympathy is initiated by the powerful hostility/rage/hatred between the clans, which statement i s presented in the prologue of the Act 1 in such a way Two households / From ancient grudge break to new mutiny / From forth the fatal loins of these two foes / A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life / Whose misadventured piteous overthrows / Do with their death bury their parents strife. / The fearful passage of their death-marked love, / And the continuance of their parents rage (Act 1, Prologue) Therefore, as prologue puts it, two households descended their mutiny recollective beforehand, but a pair of star-crossed lovers bury their parents strife with their death as a result, extensive love is determined and initiated by the great hatred, and thus great hostility is defeated by the great passion of the lovers, the conjunction between two principal motives in the dramatic plot of the play is unquestionable. The hostility between the clans in Verona influenced a lot on a very character of the relations between the lovers, determines its doomed and swift process. According ly, in Act 1, Scene 5, Romeo asks rhetorically Is she a Capulet? / O dear account my life is my foes debt (Act 1, Scene 5) which phrase is responded by Juliet in such words My only love sprung from my only despise / Too early seen unknown, and known too late / Prodigious birth of love it is to me, / That I must love a loathed enemy

The different effects of mass media include the saving of valuable information as well as news to the people, informing the public about versatile government programs along with policies, entertaining people and promoting various trades and industries through advertisements (Marikkar, An Introduction to Mass Media and Their Effects and Roles in Society). Thus, it can be stated that the mass media imposes crucial impact upon the individuals and the society at large. thesis Statement In this discussion, a critical examination about the way an experience of attending a concert may get affected out-of-pocket to the prior expectations in comparison to the experience of the same event in a mediated form will be taken into concern. Moreover, a elaborate analysis of both the types of experiences of the event in terms of various relevant conceptions and theories will also be portrayed in the discussion. Discussion It has been observed that the persuasion of synthetic experience or a mediated type of experience is qualitatively different from a real experience. The aspect of real experience chiefly originates within the natural sensory envelope of a person i.e. constant vision sounds among others which arises from the events occurring at their own paces in real time within the fulfill of the sensory capabilities of a person. Conversely, the facet of synthetic experience arises from the conceptions which do not possibly originate within the natural sensory envelope of an individual. During the historic period of 20th century, the public has known to create quite familiar with an informative environment which is based upon real experiences blended with unreal or synthetic experiences. The motion pictures normally provide synthetic experiences to the people and they self-consciously attend them as a recreational event. In this imagine, both real as well as synthetic events are gradually presented to the audiences of mass media and hence every individual experiences the mixture of both the events. Through the expansion of mass media, synthetic events have increasingly become more persistent in comparison to real events in modern life in the form of synthetic experiences. The mass media has been successful in attracting the aid of a huge number of people and it has been recognized in this context that much of the current day experiences are entirely different from the experiences prior to the years of twentieth century (Funkhouser & Shaw, How Synthetic Experience Shapes Social Reality). To what extent can human resource policies and practices promote Essay

To what extent can hu serviceman resource policies and practices promote sex par - Essay Examplethe representation of women in management positions in firms across Europe reveals that gender equivalence is inactive a problem for businesses of all sizes. Moreover, it seems that the physical body of women in lower and middle management positions is gradually increased, in opposition with the top management positions, which are likely to be occupied by man (Stahl and Bjorkman 2006, p.506-507). In 2002, the percentage of firms that employ only men at lower and middle management positions was estimated to 44%, decreased from 1996 when the above percentage was 50% (European occupancy Survey 2002, in Stahl and Bjorkman 2006, p.506). The figures presented above denote the ineffectiveness of HRM to secure gender equality. At the next level, Stahl and Bjorkman (2006) note that the level at which HRM policies focus on gender equality is often depended on the level at which women are repre sented in HRM (Stahl and Bjorkman 2006, p.507). In other words, in firms where the number of women working in the HRM division is high, the promotion of gender equality is expected to be more intensive compared to firms that tend to employ men in their HRM department. In this context, HRM policies are likely to stress on gender equality mostly when female HR managers plan them, a fact that reveals the inability of modern firms to secure equality in the workplace. The probable use of HR policies for promoting gender equality is highlighted in the study of Durai (2010). Reference is made specifically to Infosys, a global firm in the area of IT consulting. The item firm has promoted gender equality through an appropriately customized network, the Women Inclusivity Network, which secures gender equality by mentoring women employees to take up challenging working assignments (Durai... Gender equality is still an important problem for organizations worldwide. The development of initia tives by the states and by international organizations, such as the United Nations, has helped towards the limitation of the problem. Still, the success of firms worldwide in promoting gender equality is rather low. The literature presented above has revealed that firms can choose among different policies for promoting gender equality. In this context, it would be expected that phenomena of gender equality in the workplace would be limited, a fact that has not been verified. The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) (Rao et al 2009, p.7) seems to be the key text initiating the elimination of inequality in the workplace. However, in practice, the promotion of gender equality in the workplace is often problematic, as explained above, mostly because the relevant initiatives are not adequately supported, at to the lowest degree not as other organizational plans. The need for the active support of these initiatives by the state is quite clear .

Why Has the UN Security Council Been So Unsuccessful in Its Attempts Essay

Why Has the UN security measures Council Been So Unsuccessful in Its Attempts at Managing serviceman Order - Essay ExampleTo achieve the joined Nations objective, significant effort has been evident. Nevertheless, in most cases, the results have fallen far scam from the goals. In order to meet its goals, the UN has regularly held global conferences to address the security issues. Several factors have contributed to the UNSCs unsuccessful management global order. One of the factors is the leave out of transparency of the council. There have been conflicts regarding the restructuring of the council (Council of Europe parliamentary Assembly, 2005). The members cannot agree on whether to expand the council or let it remain the same. Additionally, lack of democracy in the council has do some states to have a negative attitude towards it. Some of these states do not trust it, and this makes it difficult for it to maintain relaxation among the conflicting states. The UNSC cannot settl e the engagement among the sates that fail to trust it because they will not give it permission to do it. Lack of implementation of resolutions According to Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (2005), in new-fashioned years, the United Nations Security Council has adopted resolutions, but relevant persons fail to implement them basing on their ignorant nature. For this reason, violation of international laws has been evident hence, conflicts worsening (Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, 2005). ... Therefore, people do not believe that the UN can bring them peace. Craving for power According to Karen (2011), The UN has not achieved much as far as peace is concerned because of the craving for power. Craving for power has made the governing class in all countries to be hostile to the inadequacy of the nationwide autonomy. The powerful minorities specify the masses, and many of them already have an objective for destructions (Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, 2005 ). This has hindered the United Nation Security Council from achieving it goal of maintaining the world order. UK and US war against Iraq According to Karen (2011), The United Nations suffered a great setback when UK and US announced war against Iraq. They declared war against Iraq claiming that it posses huge quantities of mass-destructive arms. The US defined its actions as pre-emptive measure, but until now, no weapon of mass destruction existent and they US still carry out its activities in Iraq. The third world counties are opposing the USs actions against the Iraq, and are blaming the United Nations Security Council for failing to prevent this. Hence, this has lowered the relevance of the UN Security Council globally. The individuals who believe in the collective response to global security issues could see the difficulties that the UN underwent because of the Iraq war. This is because the war made the federal agency in the multilateral system to be undermined. Disagreements in reformation According to Knight (2001), the UN General Assembly has been debating for many years regarding the council reformation but has neer reached an agreement. The G4 proposed to be the permanent members of the Security Council. Their permanent membership would augment the Council members. This proposal was opposed by

Compare and contract the views of society presented in Equus and the Essay

Compare and contract the views of society presented in Equus and the time machine - Essay ExampleThis will be illustrated by excerpts from H. G. rise up The Time Machine and Peter Shaffers Equus. This essay will focus on two aspects of social conformity namely normalcy and entropy. The works of twain writers portray a vision of a troubled future if man continues to dwell within the societal confines that propagate passivity while ignoring pressing issues such as social class splits and individual passion. Normalcy refers to what the society considers the right aspects of behavior. Passivity means inactive or submission to the will of others. In Equus, Dysart is considered normal as he rarely strays outside of societal boundaries. He is married, has no children, and has a good education and profession that places him in a superior social class. However, he feels that his life is dull with no spiritual communication. His marriage lacks intimacy as illustrated by his admission that he has not kissed his wife for six-spot years. Disillusioned with modern civilization and unhappy with his role in it, he turns to Greek civilization for spiritual comfort. This highlights the internal conflict that most populate have. In conforming to societys belief of what is considered normal, one loses their individualism and passion, causing misery in their lives. In contrast, his patient, Alan, seems full of passion and vigor. Alan goes against the societal indoctrination to conceive the appraisal of a god that differs from the traditional Christianity. This is propagated by the conflicting views on religion of his parents. His mother is a staunch Christian who read him the bible daily and taught him that the familiar act was dirty. His father was an atheist and a strict disciplinarian that could not even allow him to watch television because he believes that it takes away ones intelligence and concentration. Both parents are products of social norm, which requires them t o exist in a world without passion and idolization. As a result, Alan conceives a horse god, Equus, with which he freely expresses his passionate worship and sexuality. He compares the horsegod to Jesus when he says, I see you, I will save you. (66). This adoration hits its climax when he blinds six horses. As a result, he is declared unbalanced and in pain and sent to Dysart to heal his mind. This violence brings out the conflict between the two myths the pagan worship he created, and the Christian one he inherited which saddled him with guilt and shame concerning his sexuality. The eyes are symbolic of societys checks on its members, incessantly judging and punishing. By striking the eyes, Alan fights the society that has oppressed him. Thus, society forces blind obedience and individuals are forced to suppress their desires. Even though most people are aware of this consequence and are dissatisfied with their miserable existence, they lack the commitment to change their lives. Dysart feels that by removing ones uniqueness he is destroying stir up of their personality, but ultimately strips Alan of what he desires most. Normalcy and passivity are also evident in The Time Machine. The social disparity between the leisurely wet upper class and the working class was considered normal, especially in the Victorian England. The rich exploited the workers for profits to finance their passive lifestyle as visualised by the laziness in the dinner guests in chapter one, who meet to dine and chat. The time traveler belongs to the upper class. This passivity is also evident among the Eloi (upper

Technology and Special Education Essay Example for Free

Technology and Special Education EssayBecoming a Special Education instructor was all I could think ab tabu when I first had to sub at the Elementary naturalise that I am now currently engaged at. When I was asked to sub for a acquireer that treats with all kinds of students who look at redundant take aims rather it is a directing disability, handicap or behavior. I was scargond, I jumped at the chance to sub plus the extra pay but I didnt discern what I was tuckerting myself into. The first min was shaky because the babyren knew I was scared and unsure of myself as their substitute instructor, but I would never for push one of the students came up and hugged me and said she was scared besides I asked her why she said she didnt know if I liked her. From that day I on I knew my heart and wanting to become a teacher was special statement. These baby birdren who are lost in class because of their disability, they either shells picked on, singled out or the teacher just doesnt call on them. I got hired on at the school as a special education aide, this was where I be greated.I got to see firsthand on how these children were treated in the classroom and outside of the classroom. I felt like now is my chance to get these teachers to understand that these marvelous children are as normal as we are, and that they need a chance to shine too. I loved works with these children but I felt that I should be doing something different with my life and education. Over the recent few years I was told by the head of special education that I would be shadowing a 3 year old with downcasts syndrome, my heart sunk I felt like this wasnt for me and didnt want the job.As soon as I met this wonderful child I knew deep in my heart that I was meant to be her teacher. She is the reason for me going back to college and getting a bachelors degree in education and operative on my masters in special education, without her I dont think I would sacrifice gone back to c ollege. I have been working with this child for the sometime(prenominal) 4 years she is now seven, when looking back at the choice I do I am so blessed I got a chance to be a part of this little girls life. My own children and family love this little girl like she was one of own we have grown attached to her family and theirs to ours.We do family get together and special events, I wouldnt change a thing. I am just amazed at how m whatsoever stares or shocked faces when people ask me what do I do and I am proud to say that I teach a child with downs. Most of them dont understand why I chose to do this and to this day they still ask why? The only thing I place say is why not, she is just as normal as you and me but postulate a little more care and dopes of patience. I am proud to say that I taught this child to write her very own name, yes it was a challenge and took a full year but this wonderful little girl shag write her very own name with no economic aid. This is what dogm a is all roughly, getting the satisfaction that yes every child slew learn regardless of their learning or disability. My goal for going back to school was to help special needs children, and I have finally reached that goal. To serve sure I understand everything that I need to know. In order for me to become a great teacher, I leave need to be learn to be more patient, show a lot of compassion, kindness , ability to listen/ cerebrate and most importantly is to be loving and love what teaching is all about. Taking what I learned from them and teaching it to my own kids. I want to be able to make a difference in somebodys life.Especially allowting people know, that no matter how old you are you can still go back to school and get a degree and fulfill you dreaming. Not just anyone can say today I am going to go teach a special needs child, teaching a special needs takes patience, compassion and most importantly an education in this field. I pure tone that in order to succeed in becoming a special education educator use essential have some or most of these qualities be exhaustively climateed, organized, very pass judgment to every student, be creative with their teaching methods, even tempered, thick skinned, optimistic and finally being dedicated to their work and their students.Having a good sense of humor helps you and your students, because when you are having fun teaching and enjoying your students. Your students notion the uniform(p) way and when you are down, upset and depressed they also feel the tension that you are putting off. So it is important for a teacher to be good humored. For eccentric my student is still being potty trained and when she has a messy accident I can turn my back for one quick second and she is already finger painted the walls. I want to get so made at her and scream and yell what do you think you are doing but when I look into her eyes I just laugh, this is why you have to be good humored. Being organized and prepar ed can also help you succeed in teaching, you have to be able to line up or modify what you are teaching because not every student learns the same way. For instance my student can be having an off day and tired of the same old fashion so I have to be prepared to get her out of her moods to where she wants to learn and have fun at the same time. Being able to adjust and modify your lesson plans in order to help your student succeed in their education for that day.Every educator no matter what they are certified to teach must welcome all students with open arms and a smile. We as teachers need to stop and think is that its not the childs imperfection they are like this but as educators we can find ways around their learning disability and help them learn. A teacher doesnt get to pick their star students to teach but the teacher can make any student a star student just by judge that student for who they are and also by guiding them to the well(p) path for success. get to know your students and understanding them will help you and your student in the long run. Every teacher needs to learn to think outside the box when to come to teaching, especially when the students start to get bored or restless with the same old teaching style. Children all of all ages and disabilities all love it when teachers come up with crazy ideas on how to teach a certain subject. It helps detention children socialize and focused on what they are being taught. Bringing creativity into the classroom will have the benefit of enriching your classroom environment as well. For example when it was STARR examination at our school my student and I and to go to the storage/break room, of course I wasnt fully prepared for this last minute arrangement. costless to say I used paper cups and plates and wrote letters and numbers on them so we made our own game to where she can still learned her first rudiment and counting. She loved every minute of it. Working with special needs children can be very challenging and rewarding all at the same time. up to now the teacher must be able to respond very quickly when their students lose their temper or become out of control.Students can get out of control when the teacher is not strict, firm or being kind, teacher needs to watch what they say and what they do, so they always have wits about them and most importantly hang-up calm. For example I was working with my student when another teacher raised her voice and an autism boy started panicking and going out of control, or else of talking this boy and getting him madder and scared than what he already is. I started singing his favorite song that he likes Twinkle Twinkle myopic Star and after a few minutes of singing he calmed down and came and set in my lap.A teacher must always know what to do when a child gets out of control, they should know their students indoors and out. A teacher has to be confident in themselves and in their teachings. When working with any child especi ally ones who do have special needs, the teacher cant keep second guessing herself. You have to stay calm and confident al all times and dont let the children see that you are overwhelmed or stressed because some children feed off that and it will be harder to stay focused on your teachings.Teachers are intuitive, they need to be able to watch and learn how their student is trying to communicate with them or what they are asking for. For example my student who is seven has speech issues to where any somebody can talk to her and when she replies back they have no clue what she is saying. I have been with this child for the past 4 years that we know what she is saying through some sign and just by watching what she is doing. A teacher needs to know their students inside and out and find ways that they can communicate with their student.A teacher must be thick skinned or be able to get over any rude or name calling that their child calls them. Children act out because they dont know wh at else to do when they are made or scared. So they start calling their teachers names or using bad words. Teacher needs to overcome the name calling and still let their student know what they still love them. Being optimistic when teaching children at any age, showing and encouraging them not to give up and to keep trying makes the best teacher there is.When I child hears encouragement then they know that the teacher is there for them and will help them in any way to find them a way to understand what they are being taught or what they are wanting to do. Dedication is the magic word when it comes to teaching children. Getting to know a child who does have special needs does to a caring, compassion and dedicated person. They are in it to help and care for these children and help them get an education no matter how many hurdles or obstacles are in the way.I knew that when I was asked to be with a child that has downs from the time she got to school till she went home, I was scared bu t I was up for the challenge. I feel that in my heart being a dedicated, caring, loving and compassionate person will help me strive to be the very best special educator teacher at there. There are challenges and obstacles that all special educators must face and get through, especially when it comes to the law and being able to provide services for these children. There are a lot of rules, regulation and laws that every teacher has to abide by.Although we understand these rules we always have a question in the back our minds. My question is that knowing we are a public school is providing the right services for our student with downs? oCan we trust our school system Special education staff will rarely tell you that they cant pay for what youre asking for. The head mandates that services cannot be denied on the basis of cost, but special educators know the federal government has never provided sufficient funds to implement that requirement. Special education staff wish you knew tha t they have little, if any, say in the budget process.Knowing they can meet your childs needs in other ways, special education teachers frequently try to steer parents away from costly alternatives because they have to. IDEA requires schools to provide an appropriate education not the best possible services (Logsdon). I feel that through all the thick and thin I still want to be the very best special education educator out there. If we arent the very best and teaching our children, then who can our children trust? Parents have the right to find the very best education for their children rather its a public school, private school or a school that fits their childs disability.I would want the very best for my own children and for my students. I feel that I have the drive to be able to teach a child and get to know them on their level inside and out. I can be there to help them get the proper education because I can offer them love, care, compassion and all my awe to them. People wh o want to work with children need to ask themselves these questions Would I be a good special education teacher? Do I have the desires and skills to be a winning special education teacher, and actually enjoy what I do? I can honestly answer yes, after working with children who have all sorts of special needs and faced so many challenges. I am ready to take on new and different challenges that the students will bring. I want the students to be able trust me and let me guide them to the right education, and help find them ways that they are comfortable with their learning skills. In order for me to become a successful educator I need to find ways that will help me communicate with the student when the student has speech issues, find ways to help children who are handicapped to learn. There are all kinds of reasons why I will become a successful special education educator and devotion and commitment sums it up. My goal for going back to school was all due to my family and my special l ittle student, reason why was to help special needs children, and I have finally reached that goal. While taking these online classes, I feel like they have molded me into the teacher I want to be. What I expect from my instructors is the same compassion about teaching is the way I feel.To make sure I understand everything that I need to know. In order for me to become a great teacher, I will need to be learn to be more patient, show a lot of compassion, kindness , ability to listen/reasoning and most importantly is to be loving and love what teaching is all about. Taking what I learned from them and teaching it to my own kids. I want to be able to make a difference in someones life. Especially letting people know, that no matter how old you are you can still go back to school and get a degree and fulfill you dream.Thats why I am taking these classes to for fill my dream and to help those children in need of an education from someone who can be devoted, love, care and give them comp assion for who they are on the inside and on the outside. My school of thought that I go by is strictly based on that every child no matter what disability they have has the chance and deserves the opportunity to have an education. No child should be held accountable or punished because of their disability. Every student can learn it just take time and a lot of patience on both ends. This quote by Helen Keller is something that I agree with, hope and confidence helps your child succeed as long as you retain faith, hope and confidence when teaching your student. I believe as long as you have hope in a student then they will start to have faith in themselves and want to succeed with their education regardless of any hurdles that they come across. Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement, nothing can be done without hope and confidence. Helen Keller References View as multi-pages.
